Hats of to Sehwag..Mendis effect Continues

Well.. First innings all out 329.. Excellent batting performance from Virender Sehwag, who was well supported by Gambhir and Laxman..The openers came out positive and even though there was some movement for the seemers earlier in the day.. it was some good batting from both the openers specially Sehwag.. and they went on to put 167 run opening stand..

But then again, the poor run continues in the middle order, the seniours .. platform was set for a big total ( 500+ ) however was not to be.. Mendis continues with his googlys and doosras.. and took 6 crucial ( :P ) wickets. But even then we would be thinking that 329 would be a competitive total.. do you think? Not really.. the lakans scoring at over 5 an over.. its 115/1 in 23 overs. I still back my bet .. series 2-0 If we compare batting to batting and bowling to bowling... we are no where near in either aspect.. India has always relied on its batting.. and was never bowling..but I think test cricket is all about taking 20 wickets ... and you need good bowling attack for that... Ishant was looking good in Australia against Ponting and company.. was really impressive.. but now he is lacking pace. . .( can understand the wicket is not the same ) but still not the same Ishant we saw in Australia, The spinners.. I think Piyush chawla was a better choice over Harbhajan sing.. I hate Ramesh Powar, for his feilding.. but still I would prefer him over Harbhajan.. I think Harbhajan is yet to take his first wicket in this series.

Lankan bowling already looked dangerous with Murli and Vass, just like Mcgrath and Warne for Australia.. but now.. with Mendis joining the party.. Its even difficult.. I personally feel the Mendis storm will come down with time.. but still he is just incredible... Batsman really has no choice at times..

Concluding.. I think the poor batting preformance in the middle order will pay off.. This one just seems to me like a draw.. but still 70:30 Lanka: draw..Lets hope Sehawag continues his rescue work .:P
